Tattoo
Have you ever thought about getting a tattoo? I've had this "itch" lately about getting one, but it just doesn't run in my family or friends. I know it's becoming more and more accepted in today's society, but I would feel like doing something wrong...like drugs or something. I've even thought about getting one on the bottom of my foot (just to have one). Do you guys have any tats and if so, how do you feel about them? I know Richard has a few, but anyone else? The above pic is something I had in mind.

Number 1 and 2 are appealing. Hhmmmm...that is a thought. Number 2 can be illustrated like a one of those sardine cans where they have this little pin with a handle that you turn and roll the tin top back to reveal its contents. In my case, there's no contents!
My son Adam has several.
Some famous actor(forgot his name)had one and sat next to an old lady on an airplane. She saw his tatoo and asked if he wanted to see hers. She said that his was voluntary, but that hers was not voluntary. Then she showed him the number tatooed on her hand. The Nazis did it to her at a labor camp. He was soooo astounded, that he got a tatoo in her honor with her name and something about her put on his upper right arm.
I'm not into tatoos, but if you get one, make sure the better half is cool with it.
O.K....it's fess up time. Yes, I would love to have one. Not one of those let's mar the landscape of your body with gallons of ink. Although I did like Mr. Bad Examples "little man mowing grass".
I would want a single drop of blood on my hand. Representing the blood Jesus shed.
There...
I said it.

Confession is good. I made this blog my confession too.
Hey David...where did you get the stick man cutting grass idea? Grin!
My sense of humor goes deep too. My wife gives me blank stares very often. Humor is a gift and not everyone has it. I love humor because it's medicine for my soul.
Adding an "h" to your last comment would have had me rolling in the floor, since you were talking about the "butt."
I would like to have a tattoo, but I have reservations about it just like you, something about all of the OT verses about not marking yourself.
However, I do have something that is a little unusual. I never had my ears pierced when I was a teenager. While traveling and singing in the late 70s and early 80s, I sang a song entitled "Pierce My Ear." It is about the Exodus passage where during the Year of Jubilee debts were forgiven and slaves were set free. If a slave did not want to leave his master and wished to stay with him for life, the master would take him to the doorpost and with an awl (painful) pierce his right ear. The piercing would symbolize his lifelong allegiance to his master.
Sometime around 1987, I really wanted to have my right ear pierced. That was about the time when information about the gay community's using the right earring as a sign of homosexuality began to surface. That didn't bother me as much as what my parents would think about it.
One Veteran's day, my mom and sister visited me. They wanted to have my daughter's ears pierced. While we were doing that, I told my mom that I had been wanting to have my right ear pierced for ages. She asked me why pierce just the right ear. I told her. She teared up and said she thought I ought to do it. So, I did it.
Since then, I've really had a lot of explaining to do. Students and people around me who don't know the story will say something like, "Do you know you've lost an earring?" or "I didn't know you were gay!" Then I would explain. Sometimes it takes a while to explain.
So, maybe you should do it. Maybe Jesus has set us free from all those rules that we were once beat over the head with.
Whatever you do, you will always be special to me.
Thanks for being you.
Well...I do have one. I just recently got it recovered, and I like it. It is a tribal design on my right arm... I got it orininally when I was 18. I am 31 now. I do not think that tattoos are a big deal... I like them actually....but that is me. It is definitely something that you will have to live with forever, so it is wise to pick something that you won't get tired of.
