Rocky Mountain High...

I recently saw a documentary on John Denver's life and was flooded with memories. I didn't know how much I missed his music until I watched the program. It was a unique style that has a coffeehouse feel to it, but it was music from deep in his soul. His music was a projection of life's joy, if sought for it. Joy can be obtained, but we have to make the first move toward it. The bible says that we get our strength from joy. John took the simplistic, but often overlooked priviledges of life and made them into song. He looked into the heart and studied what love really is, what joy really is, and finding paths to reach the uncorrupted definition of true love.

Were any of you fond of his songs? My personal favorite is, "Sunshine on my Shoulders." Posted by Picasa

Vicki and I had "LADY" sung at our wedding by my good friend and bandmate, Gary Burttram. The song was from the POEMS, PRAYERS and PROMISES Album.

We also saw John Denver in Concert in Huntsville back in the mid 70's. It was probably one of the best shows I have been to. He was a unique and wonderful songwriter and singer.

There is no high, like the Most High!

People used to say I looked like JD, at least until they met John Humphries.
